About Us
VCU Health Hospice at Home by BAYADA takes a holistic team approach to support patients with a limited life expectancy prognosis and their loved ones. A joint venture between VCU Health System, the Richmond region's leading health system, and BAYADA Home Health Care, a leading nonprofit home health care provider, VCU Health Hospice at Home by BAYADA can help you set and realize new goals focused on the best possible quality of life for you and your loved ones
VCU Health at Home by BAYADA offers high-quality care to VCU Health patients, as well as to those referred by other providers in the community, who are managing chronic conditions or recovering from recent surgery, illness, injury, or hospitalization. We pride ourselves on serving as an extension of your doctor's care while carrying out our mission to help people have a safe home life with comfort, independence, and dignity—giving clients and their families peace of mind.
How home health care works
We make it simple and easy to get the coordinated care you need. Home health care services, which must be ordered by your doctor, may include nursing, and physical, occupational, and speech/language therapies to help you recover or manage a chronic condition in the comfort of your own home. The goal is to avoid unnecessary hospitalizations while following your doctor's established treatment plan.
Safe, supervised medical care—at home
Timely start of care
We will be there when you need us to begin services, usually within 24 hours of your call, and will ensure continued communication between your health care providers and your VCU Health at Home by BAYADA care team to keep everyone updated on your progress.
Trained and compassionate caregivers who love what they do
Your team of visiting caregivers may include nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, medical social workers, and other skilled medical professionals.
Clinical supervision
All caregivers are screened, licensed, experienced, and matched to meet your unique needs, and each patient's care is supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Manager and is coordinated in alignment with your doctor's instructions.
24/7 availability
If you have a question or are experiencing a crisis, you can reach us anytime, day or night.
Family support
We provide education to help you and your family understand your medication management and treatment plan with confidence and assist with making follow-up appointments as needed until you've met your recovery goals.
Paying for home health services
Medicare is the primary payment source for home health services. Medicaid and private insurance are also accepted if you don't have Medicare benefits. Friendly staff members in our Richmond office are ready to answer your questions and explain the different payment options.
